CRIS: How it all started
Born with a passion for creativity and an eye for beauty, Cris’s career speaks for itself. Originally hailing from Ireland, and growing up in Australia, Cris discovered her calling at an early age. Playing with Baby Crissy, the doll with growing hair. You push the button it grows long, you push again its short. Cris cut the dolls hair and it never grew any more when she pushed the button. Poor little Cris , her mummi did not replace her much-loved baby Crissy doll with the growing hair. It was then that she realized her life long passion and her sisters replaced the doll and there it was “ a star stylist was born”

Working in a small local salon at 13 after school, she learnt that styling was not the glamour she thought it was. Sweeping salon floors, washing hair, making tea and coffee for four years seemed a total waste of time. She finally finished high school and still as passionate as baby doll days, she landed a 4-year apprenticeship with South Australia’s leading Salon Hoffmann Hair. It was here she learnt her trade and the hard work after school finally paid off. Those after school days and apprentice training were the foundations of her career. She quickly outgrew her surroundings and left Australia to broaden her knowledge of styling and gain a new perspective in London. After 2 years in London she headed back to Australia to open her own business, Truffles Hair. After four successful years, a husband and a new baby, it was time to focus on motherhood. However, not one to stay at home for domestic bliss, she left Australia, with child in tow to take position as Principal at HDC Hairdressing Academy in Singapore. It was there, her passion for hair and travel merged. After 5 years in Asia, Cris secured a 2 year contract as part of the operational setup team for Dessange Bahrain, an exclusive Ladies only Day spa in Adliya Bahrain. As Manager, was trained in Paris to bring the Dessange techniques to Bahrain, where she fast became a well respected stylist.

Cris was then invited to bring her creativity and vision to a boutique salon “Head to Toe” in Zinj Bahrain, where she was instrumental in its success and growth. After almost 4 years as the Creative director, she became the most sought after stylists on the island. Under her management, H2Toe became, and still is, one of the most successful boutique salons in the region.

After 7 years in the Middle East, a good understanding of the Arabic culture, the women and their beauty needs, “UBeauti” was born. Owned and managed by Cris, Located in Al Hamalah Bahrain. UBeauti caters to the hair and beauty needs of the women of Bahrain.

Cris combines uptown sophistication with downtown Australian personality. Cutting edges, yet never out of touch, Cris can look at her client, understand their desired image and will translate that into a perfect style. She has the ability to modernize the iconic styles of the past and translate them into a look that is chic and fresh. She motivates through education all her staff to ensure all standards and services are what you have come to accept and respect.
