Health is the level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of an organism at both the micro and macro level.
In the medical field, health is commonly defined as an organism's ability to efficiently respond to challenges (stressors) and effectively restore and sustain a "state of balance," known as homeostasis.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity – World Health Organization

Yoga and health
The term yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root Yuj which means to unite (Samadhi or integration)
Yoga leads us to the integration of personality at all possible levels physical, mental and spiritual.
Yoga considers that most diseases are due to insufficient life force, either in the body as a whole, or a blockage of life force to one part of the body. This leads to a lowered body resistance or immunity to disease. When the whole body has lowered life force, the result is a lowered vitality level, poor health and susceptibility to infection.
Lowered life force is a outcome of no coordination in between the different levels of organism

The key to health
The two aspect of human’s life are the absolute and relative.
Relative life has a three aspect physical, mental and environmental; or body, mind and surroundings
So we have found that humans whole life has four components: absolute, mind, body and surroundings
Healthy absolute, healthy mind, healthy body and healthy surroundings together with healthy coordination between absolute and mind, mind and body and between body and surroundings will constitute a perfect health in an individual.
Unless all these seven points are taken into account the consideration of health will remain incomplete and no completely correct solution can be provided to the problem of ill health

Physical health
The essential principal of health at the physical level is the use of body. If we do not move our body then it will not function, well this applies to anything with moving parts like machine
However mere movement is not the answer to good physical health. Scientifically, exercise means movement of the particular part of the body. But if you do exercise mechanically it does not full fill the purpose because the mind is not involved
One essential difference between yoga and other form of exercise is that most physical activities like sports use the arm and legs and less emphasis is on the vital organs;
Whereas yoga concentrate more on the flexibility of spine and the efficient functioning of the organs in the thoracoabdominal cavity through movement with conscious awareness.

Importance of spine
The spine is so important for a high vitality level, good health and the correction of many health conditions
A whole science of healing has been developed to correct spinal misalignment. In fact, chiropractic is now the second largest healing profession after medicine and the fastest growing healing profession in the world.
A blockage of life force to one part of the body is usually caused by a slight misalignment of a vertebra which impinges on the nerve that travels to that particular organ.
If the spinal misalignment is not corrected, the organ may develop pathology. It is much more difficult to correct at this stage.

Mental health
Mental health is how we think, feel and act as we cope with life.
It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. From perspectives of the discipline of positive psychology mental health may include an individual's ability to enjoy life and procure a balance between life activities and efforts to achieve psychological resilience.
Everyone feels worried, anxious, sad or stressed sometimes.
But with a mental illness, these feelings do not go away and are severe enough to interfere with your daily life.

Mental health and nervous system
Mental health depends upon the normal functioning of the mind and nervous system. When this coordination breaks down because of some failure either on the part of the mind or of the nervous system, ill health results. The main reason for this is a lack of clarity and power of thought, so that the nervous system is not stimulated to the extent where it can carry out the activity needed to fulfill the expected desire
Perfect functioning require a profound power of thought on the part of the mind together with a correspondingly efficient executive ability in the nervous system
The integrity of the organic nature of the nervous system is as essential as the power of the mind, for they are interdependent in their functions. It has been found that while the nervous system remains unchanged, an improvement of the state of the mind results in an improved state of thinking and a better coordination between the mind and the world around it

Health and happiness
Thus we find that the mind and nervous system are interdependent. But since the mind is obviously of a more subtle nature than its organ, the nervous system, it seems wiser to give greater importance to the mind, particularly when considering mental health.
A strong seed will produce a plant even in a desert, whereas not amount of nurturing will help a week seed. If the basic power of thought is strong it will find its way to fulfillment.
Happiness is clearly is a result of fulfillment of the needs of the mind, and this provides the basis for normal health. If, because of failure to satisfy its needs and desires, the mind feels discontented and therefore tensions begins to arise within it. The way to remove these tensions will be to strengthen the mind by increasing its power to think.
